Granny Stitch Shrug

Happy Saturday everyone! It's made out to be a pretty nice day today weather wise . It's about 60 degrees with just a slight breeze.  The sun is shining and it almost feels warm.  After all those cold winter spells it feels so good to be able to go outside and enjoy the day. There's a sense of freedom that comes with being able to go outside and not being confined to the parameters of the house. I'll enjoy it while it lasts. Tomorrow is supposed to be close to 70 for the high.

Here's a peak at my new work in progress. After I finished the afghan I couldn't decide what to work on next. I knew I wanted a smaller project that would work up quickly......like a garment of some sort. I searched and searched until I found a pattern that intrigued me enough to want to try it.

This is the Granny Shrug I am attempting to make. I liked the simplicity of it and the traditional "granny" stitch it calls for.  Not to mention it oozes of vintage charm. So I'm gonna give it a go.  Design and pattern are from Sandra at Cherry Heart.

I'm trying to use up some of my leftover yarn from other projects. I thought this pattern was ideal for using up the scrap yarn that sits in the drawer just waiting to be used.
So far I'm not loving the color choices but when your just working with stash you can't be too picky. I'll just keep working on it and see what becomes of it. Hopefully I'll like it.
Have you seen the new Crochet magazine?  I just love the sweater on the front cover. I don't normally buy magazines but this one I couldn't resist. It's full of pretty patterns and inspiration.

Hope you all are doing well and  relaxing and enjoying the weekend.  Blessings.....
