Hey y'all! Hope your week is going great. Mine has been pretty good. We made a quick trip to New Mexico last weekend to visit hubby's parents. When we got home on Monday I started working on this blanket. A lady from our church is having a baby and our church is hosting a baby shower for her. I have until next weekend to get it finished.
I had bought some pretty blue baby yarn to make this blanket with but then thought better of it and decided to use more fun and lively colors. I'm sure the baby will get plenty of blue things. I thought it would be fun to use some unexpected colors.
My knitting lessons are put on hold right now until I can finish my baby blanket. I had ordered a pair of bamboo knitting needles and they came in today. I tried them out right away and I like them so much better than the metal ones. Not as much slippage. I feel like I have more control of the yarn.
So what have you been up to?
I'm on my way to visit your lovely blogs right now to find out.

Love the colours you're using, it does make a nice change from the traditional baby blue. I use bamboo knitting needles all the time now, definitely prefer them to the metal ones. Have a lovely weekend,

You sure have accomplished a lot of stitching in a short amount of time.
Glad you like your new knitting needles. It's always fun to get new tools of the trade, especially when they arrive by mail :)
Happy Weekend,

This is a lovely baby blanket, I like the fact that you used different colors than pink or blue. I love the 'ripple' effect in the colors as well. I'd love to knit a blanket like that too!
