Well, another week has gone by and we are that much closer to Christmas. So many things to do and not much time for crocheting. I'm starting to think my afghan won't be done in time for Christmas.
What I had in mind when I started this project was to have a Christmas afghan that I could bring out year after year, throw it over a chair and enjoy it for a season, and box it up again when the holidays are over. I did start on it a little bit late and other more important projects have taken priority, but the good thing is now I don't have anything else to work on and all of my extra time will be devoted to this.
I made one of each of the six different blocks. For the remaining blocks (there's 30 total) I set up an assembly line system. I first made all the centers then I added the second color and am now working on the third color. I prefer this method over making a block at a time which seems to take forever. It doesn't really take a long time it just seems like I'm not making much progress.
With the exception of a few stocking stuffers, I am done with my Christmas shopping. I will be staying in this weekend, wrapping a few presents, and picking up my hook every chance I get.
I hope you are done shopping too and don't have to go out there and fight the crowds this late in the season. I did most of my shopping online. So thankful for internet shopping! :)
Til next time,
Nice job ! All your squares are beautiful !

Lovely. I would like to see a DIY of it.
ReplyDeleteIs it possible?
If so, thank you very much.
Have a great weekend.

Such beautiful crochet, and I'm in love with your color combination.
ReplyDeleteThey're coming out beautifully. I love the colors, very fresh and bright. Next time I make a blanket with individual squares, I'm going to do it this way. The other way really does seem longer.
ReplyDeleteI adore your color choices! :) I'm mostly done with shopping too, but do have a few things to go out after. Merry Christmas! :)
ReplyDeleteHi Foxxy, wow it is beautiful and yes the color choice is so pretty! I'm almost done just a little more shopping for hubby who is so difficult to shop for! Wishing you and your family a Merry Christmas! Julie
ReplyDeleteYour color combo is gorgeous! I like your idea for doing one section at a time, rather than completing a whole block at a time.
ReplyDeleteHi, dear! Thank you for your sweet comment.
ReplyDeleteMerry Crhistmas to you and your family!

I would definitely prefer your assembly line method. I have such a short attention span that making one would seem like eons. Breaking it up seems like a good idea.
ReplyDeletePretty squares, pretty colors - can't wait to see it.
I've gotta learn how to do this! :D Your crafty posts inspire me, can't wait to get making.
