I finished this little dress a couple of days ago. It's one of Sarah Cooper's patterns called Plumeria Baby Dress. I wanted something to work on while we were in New Mexico last weekend. I chose this pattern since I was already familiar with it and besides, I have a lot of baby yarn in my stash I need to use up. Just out of coincidence while I was working on this dress by Sarah Cooper over the weekend, I just happened to be the lucky winner of a giveaway on her blog Sarah Sweethearts. How cool is that? I can't wait to get my package and show all of you what she sent me. She is such a sweety!
I've been going back and forth trying to decide what else to make to go with it. I like the dress all by itself but sometimes I like to pair it with something else to complete the set and make it more of an ensemble. I've made one of these dresses before and I made a matching hat to go with it. You can see it here. I haven't made up my mind exactly what I want to do with this one. So many options...
Shoes...
headband...
hat...
hmmm...
Right now I'm leaning towards some baby bloomers in white.
What would you pair it up with?
The color of this dress makes me think of Spring. I probably had Spring on my mind when I picked out the yarn. We actually had a few nice warm days this week. It got up to 70 degrees. It didn't last long though. A cold front blew in today. But looking on the bright side, we are one day closer to Spring and that makes me happy...
very happy!

I think I would make some little frilly bootees to go with this dress. I especially love the curved yoke on the dress.
ReplyDeleteHi Beca,

The dress is so adorable. My you are talented! I've been trying to find a crochet or knit class to take. Congrats on the giveaway win.
ReplyDelete:) White bloomers would be so cute, and/or a headband with a big flower. What ever you choose will be gorgeous, you crochet beautifully.
ReplyDeleteI mailed yesterday and the post lady said you should have it by Saturday. :) Enjoy!

That is a very cute little dress. I have been eyeballing a little set that has some bloomers in it. They would be cute with this too. Congrats on the giveaway! How fun.
ReplyDeleteWhat a beautiful dress, I loved the colour. A headband would look really cute.
ReplyDeleteThat pattern by Sarah is really nice, I've made one too. Mine was in pink, but yours in green is super cute. Very beautiful color and all the stitches/design stand out so well. Lovely work!

ReplyDeleteHi Foxxy, wow how beautiful your crochet dress is! I love it and everything you make is so nice. You are always making something and I don't know how you find the time sometimes! I have not picked up any crocheting or knitting this week because I have been so busy! I will hopefully this weekend! Have a nice weekend.

Hello and thank you so much for linking this beautiful dress to my CAL! It is simply lovely, the colour and design are so sweet! I immediately pictured some pretty white bloomers peeking out beneath the dress - and that was before I even read your query about what to make to go with it! Enjoy your warm weather, please send it to the UK! ;-) Chrissie x
ReplyDeleteIt's so pretty, Foxxy! I love the color. I would make bloomers to go with it, and maybe a little headband? That would be a quick addition if you still had yarn left after bloomers. It's really sweet and you did a great job with it.
ReplyDeleteOh what a sweet sweet little green baby dress! It's such a pretty design, and lovely to see it in this colour.
ReplyDeleteBloomers to match sound a great idea to cover up the nappy!
How lovely to have a few days warm weather - we have had a little bit of sunshine here inbetween the mostly wet days, but not as warm as yours!

That is a very pretty dress. I see more headbands around here than hats. One in two different shades of green would be great. Trust all is well with you and family and glad you made the trip okay.
ReplyDeleteGracias Beca ♥ pero que hermoso este modelo es tan dulce preciosa elección besos.
ReplyDeleteReally beautiful work! I love to crochet and am looking forward to seeing more of your work. Blessings to you and yours!
