Hello June

Aahhh June is here.
The beginning of a new month.
I think I can finally relax a little.
School has been out for over a week and our lives have slowed down at least for a while.

May was a whirlwind to say the least.  May is always a busy month for everyone I'm sure.
Lots of big things happening leading up to our sons graduation.  Exactly one week before graduation the state track meet was held in Albuquerque.  It was a two day event.  Preliminaries on Friday and finals on Saturday.  The weather was HOT.  Hats and umbrellas were a must.  Even with sunscreen we all came home with sunburns. It was worth it though. The day was beautiful and the track meet was so enjoyable.  If you've never been to a state track meet you must go sometime. They are such fun events.  The states fastest and finest compete for medals.  I always enjoy watching all the events.

Our son competed in two relays.  The 4 x 100 and the 4 x 400.  If any of you are familiar with track meets you will know that the 4 x 100 is the very first race of the meet and the 4 x 400 is the very last race of the meet.  Which means that we were there the whole day from about 9 in the morning to about 7:30 in the evening.  I suppose we could have left in between but hubby and I were happy to stay and watch everyone else run.  That's our son M in lane five in the picture.

M came home with two silver medals for his individual events.  His relay team took second in both races.  The competition was brutal but they performed very well.  I love cheering for him.

Anyone ever heard of Maypole?
The day before graduation the seniors wind the maypole.  It's a tradition
Our school has been doing it for 88 years.
It's a big deal around here.  The girls get dressed up in ball gowns and the boys wear tuxedos.  They dance a waltz around the pole and then the girls wind.  I didn't know what maypole was until I came here a couple of years ago.  I wish more schools still did this.  It's a very nice tradition.

And here's the moment everything was building up to.
 M graduated.
So proud of this boy.
He keeps us busy but we wouldn't have it any other way.

We held a celebration at our church for our graduates the Sunday after graduation.  We had three graduating from our church.  I set up some tables in the fellowship hall for the moms to decorate.  This is the table I did for M.  The other tables weren't decorated yet.  I was the eager mom who went in and got it done early. I wish I would have gotten a picture of the rest of the tables.  They were all so pretty and uniquely decorated.

I'm playing catch up now that school is out...
catching up on my blog...
catching up on my housework...
catching up on my yard work.
yada yada yada...

Lots of things to do.
:)

til next time,
Beca

I LOVE the Maypole dance. What a beautiful tradition. The dancers look so magical.
Playing catch up in life is always hectic but I think it helps to remind us that we are so blessed to have so many people in our lives that need us ... so much ministering to do every day. Thank You Jesus for that!
Love to You my Sweet Friend,
