Hello there blogging friends!
I've switched things up a little bit and traded my yarn and hook for some needle and thread.
It's been so long since I've embroidered that I've forgotten how to do most of the stitches. I debated whether or not I should even attempt it but decided to give it a go. I figured things would start coming back to me once I started.
I used to love to embroider when I was younger.
My mother taught me when I was a young adult. I remember her spending her evenings sitting in a chair stitching away while she watched tv. I have several of her pillowcases and dresser scarves that she made back then.

This is the pattern I came across on Craftsy that inspired me to pick up the craft once again. I thought it was adorable and I couldn't wait to try it. I'm off to a slow start but I think all I need is a little practice. Hopefully I'll be an old pro before long.
Wishing everyone a great day!
xx Beca
Sehr schön!

Your project is very cute and looks darling in the frame you selected. I used to embroider when I was in my teens (candlewicking too) although I don't really know what the difference between embroidery and candlewicking is? :-) I enjoyed the different stitches and textures they made. Wishing you a lovely day, Heather

ReplyDeleteWow Beca that is wonderful that you learned how to embroider from your mom! It's great that you are giving it a go again and I know that it will turn out beautiful just like everything you make! Have a wonderful week.
ReplyDeleteOh my, but that is so cute. I did some embroidery and cross stitch as a young adult. Don't think I remember either, but I have been tempted to try it again. Wonderful that you have some of your Mom's crafts.
ReplyDeleteLove your sweet framed doggies!
Beautiful stitching, Beca :-) I used to embroider when I was a child but haven't since. I stick to crochet and cross stitch now. Enjoy many happy stitchy hours!
