Come on in friends,
welcome to my humble abode.
The days are slipping by quickly. The rush of the holiday season is here. There is only a few more shopping days left and I am still not "done". What do you buy college aged kids who already have everything? I think and think and think and think and I still can't come up with something creative. It gets harder and harder each year to come up with something new.
I miss the days when they were little and unwrapping a few inexpensive toys made them squeal with excitement and kept them happy for days. It was a simpler time. Now it's all about the latest trend in tech gadgets which I have a hard time keeping up with as I am not a technology buff.
On another note, I am happy that this year I put up a few Christmas decorations. For the last three Christmas's we've gone without any. The reason being is that our house is small and bringing in a Christmas tree requires a lot of shifting and rearranging of furniture. If you live in a small house you can relate. But this year I bought a teeny tiny tree and put up a few small decorations. It's minimal but it's cheery and it makes me happy.
Tis the season for all things merry and bright.
Only 13 more crazy days to go.
:)

Your home looks beautifully festive, Beca. The tree is a sweet one. It looks gorgeous sitting on that fabulous little blue table! I love all the little touches your magical fingers have sprinkled about. I too wish for the days when one's children were little and the art of gift giving was so much simpler. Would you believe I haven't decorated for Christmas as yet. I had better get a move on. Your beautiful home has inspired me, lovely lady♥
ReplyDeleteHi Becca, I understand about the decorating a small house. We have been putting up a real tree for the past few years. We bought it today and it looks so slim to fit in the living room. Your tree is adorable. I can relate to the gift shopping too.
ReplyDeleteI hope you have a Merry Christmas.
Julie
Your home is cozy and just the right amount of festive. I think simple is definitely best. When the kids were little, I always had the big tree, but now they are far, far, far away so no need for all the hoopla. I don't order things online and can't mail anything to them from here because the postal system is the pits. Since they are in the States, they can pretty much get anything and order what they want. I give small gifts all throughout the year to friends so don't feel the need to go overboard at any particular time of year. Happy holidays to your and yours!
ReplyDeleteYour decorations are beautiful Beca! Especially love your tree and the topper. :) Merry Christmas!
ReplyDeleteour home is huge...too big, the house we raised our family in but still we do not put up a big tree. just several small trees, that are pre-decorated and i use year after year. i am sharing pictures of my decorated house on my blog tomorrow!! your decorations are beautiful, just the right touch!! i really like the small truck on the cute little table!!
ReplyDeletemy boys are 35 and 36, i still by each of them, and their girlfriends gifts. the girls are much easier to buy for then the boys but i always manage to have a few things for them to open!!

ReplyDeleteAll coziness. Nice stuff.
Most of all I love the cross.
Nice one!
Hi Beca! Your house looks glorious! Oh, I know. I stress about gifts, too.
ReplyDeleteI think your home looks great, I like your decorations.
ReplyDeleteEnjoy the weekend.
All the best Jan
Becca, your home is so inviting and festive! It is hard to buy presents for the kids as they get older. They usually appreciate gift cards to their favorite coffee shops or restaurants though.
