Pretty Cookbooks...

Don't judge a book by it's cover, they say.

Wrong.

I always do the exact opposite.
I'm always drawn to the pretty ones.

I found both of these cookbooks within one week of each other.  Both of them thrifted, or as I like to call  it, rescued.  I found the blue one first and I was thrilled.  Then the following Saturday I found the yellow one.  These are so pretty.

All those pretty bouquets of flowers..

The bright, happy colors...

swoon....

I'm a big fan of hers.
I love her style.

I also think her recipes are practical, not too fancy that no one would ever want to try them, like some other famous cooks.  Besides, I've been following her for years.  Since way back, when she only had her blog and wasn't famous yet.

I know she has a pretty red cookbook out there too,
which I'll be keeping my eye out for as well.

Til next time, friends

  3. I too always judge a book by its cover; the prettier the better. Those two cookbooks are a fabulous find...lucky you. Enjoy cooking from the recipes and enjoy the pretty covers. I hope the red cookbook happens upon your path.

  4. Great find, they are beautiful books. Good luck with finding the red edition it would be so nice to have the set, particularly as you use the recipes.

  5. What wonderful finds! I have quite a few books that I get from discount book shops or charity shops. I admit that I'm drawn pretty photos as well! Best, Jane x

  6. Definitely drawn to pretty covers. I also remember when she was mainly a blogger back in the day and people were just starting to talk about and recommend her. Some people now think blogging is old fashioned, but as far as I'm concerned, the sharing of information and interacting with friends made throughout the years will never go out of style. :) Have a good rest of the week.

  7. I'm with you, Beca!!! I've been turned off to many books because of an ugly cover!!! And, on the other side of that coin, I've purchased some because of the pretty cover and what was inside was disappointing. At least with a pretty cover, they look pretty on the shelf...lol!!!! I love cookbooks, but like you I prefer ones that have more practical ones without far-out ingredients that I can never find in my neck of the woods! Thanks so much for coming by my blog and leaving a sweet comment.

  8. Hi Becky, what fun cookbooks. I have tried some of her recipes, they are wonderful, but sometimes feed more people that we need, we end up with lots of leftovers, LOL. I also like recipes that I can shop for with basic ingredients . . . we live in a small town and we don't have stores that carry specialty items, and I don't like sending money on things that I don't know if I'll ever use again in anything else. It's a waste.
