New to Me Shawl

Sometimes you just get lucky...

I stopped in to visit my oldest daughter who works at a downtown consignment shop. I was hanging around the front counter chatting with her when I spotted it across the room.

There it was...
hanging on the end of a rack...
looking kind of sad and out of place.

I remember saying the words "What is that over there?".
She didn't have time to answer.  I was already heading straight in that direction.
I knew it was crochet, I could tell it was hand made, and I could tell it was big enough to wear but I didn't know what it was quite yet.  As soon as I got to it I took it off the hanger. Imagine my delight when I realized it was a shawl.
There was not only one, but two white shawls hanging side by side on the rack. I only bought one because the other one was not as nice as this one.  It was thick, heavy, and scratchy.  Some of that vintage acrylic yarn can be really rough and course.
I only bought this one.
As you can see in the picture it's in wonderful condition.
It's soft, lightweight and feels so good on.
I like to take shawls to church with me.  Sometimes the air conditioning is a bit cool in the warm months and sometimes the heating is not as warm as I'd like it to be in the cooler months so a shawl is perfect to keep on the pew next to me to throw around my shoulders when I need that extra bit of warmth.
It's has great length to it and I simply adore the tassels on it.

Vintage and handmade...
